Love Heart Break & RnB

The music industry comes with many heartbreaks and success. Gian Toonz is a prime example of this. He’s been in the industry for four years now, and has had six wives… anyone noticing a problem here? With fame people see you to a different person you actually are; or you have a persona which you want people to see you as. It creates social a barrier, as everyone knows everything about you, what you do; so something’s you want to stay personal. What would you want? We have had an opportunity to speak to Gian Toonz to see what he feels:

So far, how would you describe your career?

I think we have had so many ups and downs. Anyone in the music industry will know this; its not a simple climb to the top of the mountain. I am really grateful I have a fan base that likes what I do and my three studio albums represent this. They all have sold really well (over 3 million worldwide) and I have had an opportunity to take these songs live. All the arenas have sold out which fills me with joy – people actually like my music. It’s just a shame that my love life hasn’t taken off. I think I find the right one but it never works out. I’m always running around trying to get things done, meaning people never stick around me too long. It just makes me think I will never find someone that gets me or supports me for the job I do.

I hear you are joining the Song

Yeah, another talent show that is going to take up out TV screens on a Saturday night. People can’t get enough of them! I think it will be a really good opportunity for me and my career as I will get a greater audience watching me but I’m worried I will be judged with everything I do as there is a great media reception of these shows. One wrong word and you get judged by millions of people.

What about when it ends?

I suppose I will get on with my normal life; make new songs, play at some gigs and just enjoy what I do. The only problem is that I get attached to things after I have been doing them for a while; hence the bad break ups you see in the news! I also think that it would be nice to work in different genres of music and with other artists, which will take my mind off the situation. These people will allow me improve my musical knowledge and get a better feel for what I do – four years isn’t that long for being in this industry and you always learn something new every day.

What’s next to come from you?

Just more music, if I get time in the studios. I would like to keep making music that people like and enjoy and I always love hearing my songs being played on the radio, even if it is BBC Radio 2 (!!) I’m also planning a worldwide tour to start at the end of this year (2014) so that’ll take up most of my time now. Just getting everything perfect for my fans.

Any more gossip we should be interested in?

Ermm.. None of your business….. Only joking. At the moment there is nothing happening between me and anyone, so less heartbreak for me and more time to focus on building up more of a career. If anything does come up I will just have to take my time and not rush into anything. I’m young; I’ve got plenty of time to focus on all of that love nonsense.

Title block analysis and design

Title block analysis and design

To create my magazine and my masthead I need to analyse different titles from my chosen genre; Hip hop/ RnB and Rap.

Now I have done that I will make a preliminary title block. I made it with a website on the internet which gave me an idea of what to do when creating my main music magazine. The text will be brought from a website called da.font and will add effects on Photoshop.

This tile block that I made has met certain conventions of the masthead shown above and I will improve in my main product.
